Tasked with updating the fabled City-serving magazine into bankers and financiers new website du choix, we had the pleasure of working alongside the acerbic talents of a very popular celebrity-crucifying website, who (by someone’s master-stroke) have been contracted to provide the content. Boasting a refined concoction of sharp satire, City-centric news, exclusive access to clubs, events, product reviews and even a lunch time lottery, there’s already plenty to keep London’s movers and shakers’ minds from our money. Should we be worried?

The Lord, like Back-End Developers, works in mysterious ways, and in April this year we were blessed with a project for the UK’s leading source of reportage for the Catholic faith- The Catholic Herald. The lovely staff at TCH needed to get their operation up-to-date with a clean, contemporary online equivalent to their broadsheet. The imperatives for this project were simplicity of content management, both in the office and on the fly, and user attraction. We worked closely with the editorial staff at the paper to deliver a WordPress site that would reflect the feel of the newspaper and resonate with its blossoming readership. Slick, intuitive and effortlessly navigable, it bears all the hallmarks of our corporate builds.

How often do you get asked to build the website for a movie AND star in the movie? Almost never! So when Ted Byron came to us and asked both we could not say no.

The site essentially is very simple, holding information about the movie it’s characters and those involved. The real genius is in the method of the build, a fully featured CMS allowing Ted to add and edit content until his hearts content.

If you take a look at the site you will see the teaser scene that features the Evisua team.

Fnatic, the worlds number one gaming team, requested a professional Ecommerce site to compliment their platform. Their imperatives were ‘fast, easy to use and image driven’.

Having tired of the clunky, complex solutions available for e-commerce such as Magento (with it’s million-and-one options to turn off that you neither need nor want), we resolved to design our own, manipulating our platform to build a clean, simple, easy to use shop from the ground up.

Our aim was to manage the experience from browsing product to purchasing as simply as possible, maximising conversions and encouraging repeat business. Summarily, managing products, shipping options, order status to browsing through product images and descriptions has never been easier.

Whizz Kidz is a UK charity dedicated to providing disabled children with the mobility they deserve to lead a high quality of life. Our good friends over at Communis were commissioned to launch their new website platform and sought our assistance in coming up with a cool, user- friendly design that would appeal to the kids, parents and Joe Public alike. Designing for private, commercial clients forms the backbone of our work, so we were super excited to be involved in such a contrasting and rewarding project.

Projects in the public sector can mean adherence to a different set of design requirements. Careful use of colour combinations and selections are paramount, as sites must be clear, legible and easily navigable for users with minimal sight conditions and low physical mobility (hands and limbs). Luckily, user experience is what Evisua does best, and combined with Communis’ superb site build we delivered an outstanding final product.

If you are curious about the charity or simply want to check out our handy work, you can do so here… Whizz Kidz

We were recently approached by Carnaby Street-based music composers Mcasso (www.mcasso.co.uk) to prepare a promotional page for their world cup football track, The Beautiful Game. We got to work building something simple and visually inspiring (no surprises there), manipulating some emotive football imagery we came up with a sexy collage to bring out the personality of the site.

Next, we connected the page to its Facebook counterpart and built in a quick and easy way to buy the track through Paypal. Then we added a slick way to preview the song and watch the music video.

Football leagues, to do’s, the charts, 50 funniest TV bloopers….. Where would we be without them? Wondering around aimlessly, dragging our knuckles, like neanderthals or traffic wardens. If he’s to make sense of the world around him, man must have lists. How else are we going to know which restaurant offers the best value for money, which email template elicits the most clicks and where the smart money sits at the 12.35 at Ascot? LISTS.

In a similar vein is tech heavyweights T3 Magazine’s Top 100. This annual compendium of the the worlds best gadgets is as hotly anticipated as it is debated. So, it was with great pleasure that we accepted the T3 team’s offer of bringing this years Top 100 to life, and in doing so re-engaged with a favourite client from projects past.

Once we’d tired of arguing the merits of the iPad, mega pixels vs lens quality and finished drafting our Christmas lists we set about the build. What you see before you is the fruit of our labour: A sharp, simple and easily navigable design that shines the spotlight on the stars of the show- The products.

Check it out at http://hot100.t3.com/ and stop salivating

After more than 8 months of blood, sweat and beers, the brand new FNATIC site has finally arrived!

When we started working on the new FNATIC site, we all agreed that innovation not imitation was the key. With this in mind we sat down and came up with a new way of doing things; a method that would represent our team to the fullest and provide us with a site that was as visually pleasing as it was functional. The result is what you see here today.

Firstly, we wanted to guarantee the best possible user experience, facilitating smooth and effortless navigation for our users. Palette-wise, and in stark contrast to our previous site, we opted for a dark colour scheme (we know this won’t be to everyone’s tastes, but we think it looks rad). The fact that dark sites are notoriously hard to carry off well makes this little success all the sweeter.

Key areas for you to check out on the new site include the spanking new FORUMS, the PLAYERS pages (specifically cArn’s), the VIDEOS section and of course the Rick Roll’d movie we made! The GALLERY section is smoking- try flicking through to experience our new JS navigation. Then there’s your own USER PROFILE which you can find at the top of the site by clicking on your name. And finally the BLOGS tab, where you can stay up to date with the all the latest blog posts from Team Fnatic players!

Now if you can’t be bothered to do all of that you self, and just want to lounge around with some popcorn while someone else does the clicking, I think we have a solution..

Take the tour!

We really hope you enjoy the new Fnatic site and we’d love to hear your feedback. Whether its bugs, ideas, or just a shout out…. we want to hear from you.

Peace and Love,

Team EVISUA

Kissy Sell Out came to us to help him transcend the generic MySpace web solution for musicians and artists. The result is a fully editable CMS, allowing Kissy to showcase his work, hit his fans with up-to-the-minute information and introduce the world to his new record label, San City High and its artists.

The spec for Kissy’s site includes a fully functional shop, blogs, releases schedule, event information, free track downloads and artist profiles for San City High. The site also allows seamless integration with social networking platforms such as Twitter & Facebook, affording Kissy’s fan base direct engagement with the man himself.

Continuing our relationship with Future Publishing we were asked to design and build their 2010 edition of the PC Gamer Top 100. This site allows users to register and vote for their top 5 PC games of all time, in doing so it will shape the top 100 PC games of all time.

Technologically this was very valuable to both Evisua and Future Publishing, not only is this a very useful and ideal platform to be used throughout all of Future’s portfolio but also offers a blueprint for specific usable databases that can be passed between brands. In this case we are starting to build up an in depth record of 2500 PC games from the last 20 years, storing information such as developer, publishing, PC Gamer score and gallery items. This makes the process easier for working within brands such as GamesRadar and CVG.

If you want to go vote for your top PC games of all time, check it out now.
