UGAME.net is a large gaming social network that was built from the ground up by our team at EVISUA. From the briefs regarding the initial idea and outline, to the wire frames, technical specifications, and business logic that needed to be brought out through the user experience.
The project was completed over a 12 month period by a team of 6 using our custom built framework, which is akin to the popular Zend framework, following object orientated programming practices, and MVC architectural pattern. The website uses a good mix of JavaScript, with focus on user experience to make the process of navigation and ease of use, both easily understood and smooth.
We executed the project on a limited budget using agile programming methods in order to efficiently roll out iterations on a timescale. It was a lot of fun to work on and is an ongoing project with a new version out in Q3 of 2009. So far there is over 110,000 registered user to the site having launched late summer 08.
